The U.S. Geological Survey says an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 hit at 4:07 a.m. Sunday. It was centered a mile northwest of the View Park-Windsor Hills neighborhood, just north of Inglewood and Culver City.

A magnitude-3.5 earthquake hit the same area on April 12.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from Sunday's tremor, but the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement that it was in "earthquake model."
