Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Wednesday’s annual meeting of Rochester’s RAEDI organization will include a presentation on its last 30 years of operations - and recognition of its longtime leader.

Gary Smith has served as RAEDI’s president since 1989 when it was still taking baby steps. He became just the second president and now plans to retire in June.

“I am fortunate to have been part RAEDI’s efforts throughout the years,” said Smith. “It has been an honor and privilege to work with so many amazing people from the different industries and across the region.”

The luncheon meeting will be held at the Rochester International Event Center from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. The special program is scheduled to begin at 12:15.

RAEDI (Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc. - pronounced ready) was incorporated in 1985. It was established to encourage local business expansion and new business locations in the Rochester area.  RAEDI’s primary goal is to attract, retain and assist the growth and expansion of base business within the Rochester region.
