(Minneapolis, MN) Learfield Wire Services/TTWN Media Networks -- The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating two separate shootings Friday night that left two people dead.

Officers responded to the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood around 7:30 P-M for a shooting in a parking lot and found a man dead inside a vehicle. Investigators say there were several people in the area and they hope someone will provide information about the shooting.

Minneapolis Police were also called to investigate reports of shots fired on the city's North Side just before midnight and located a man dead on a sidewalk and another victim with a non-life threatening wound. Two more victims showed up at hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds. Detectives say the suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

Both incidents are still under investigation.
