Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Conditional bail has been set at $75,000 for the Austin who held up a liquor store in Eyota Thursday morning.

28-year-old David Martinez was formally charged Friday in Olmsted County Court with first-degree aggravated robbery, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, and a felony drug count.

He was arrested less than 15 minutes after he robbed Buddy’s Liquor Store, thanks to the information provided to investigators by the store’s clerk and the actions of a local Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer. Dean Olson came upon Martinez having car trouble along a highway near Dover moments before the Sheriff’s Department broadcast his description and the description of his vehicle in connection with the robbery.

The DNR officer immediately turned around and caught up with Martinez and a 36-year-old woman, who had abandoned their vehicle and were getting into a passing truck that had stopped to given them a ride. The woman told investigators she had no idea that Martinez has robbed the business.
