Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Chalk one up for the Rochester Police Department’s license plate scanner. It led to the Thursday night arrest of a man who was driving around with a stolen vehicle and illegal drugs.

A patrol officer pulled over the driver of an SUV around 7 p.m. after the device indicated the vehicle had been reported stolen in Rochester last week.

The 34 year old Rochester man driving the SUV was arrested for stealing the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up a bag of synthetic marijuana, enough to suspect he planned to sell the drug.

Arrested was 34 year old Michael Common, who was also tagged for driving with a revoked license.
