MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich is planning a fundraising trip to Minnesota.

The Star Tribune reports the Ohio governor is scheduled to attend a campaign fundraiser Tuesday at the Minneapolis Club.

Kasich and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are trying to prevent GOP front-runner Donald Trump from accumulating the 1,237 delegates needed to secure the nomination on the first ballot at the Republican convention this summer.

Former U.S. Sen. Dave Durenberger of Minnesota endorsed Kasich's candidacy on Saturday. Durenberger wrote in a Star Tribune commentary that Kasich "would change the Washington establishment, including his own party."
