BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (AP) — Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek confirms that a body has been found in the Mississippi River at a park that's been the focus of searches for a 10-year-old boy.

Stanek told reporters in a brief statement that searchers found the body around 1 p.m. Saturday at North Mississippi Regional Park in Brooklyn Center. But the sheriff did not say whether it was the body of 10-year-old Barway Collins, a Crystal fourth-grader who's been missing for more than three weeks.

Stanek says deputies recovered the body about 20 feet from shore. He says the medical examiner will identify the body.

Barway was last seen after school on March 18. Police have said the boy's father is a suspect but he hasn't been arrested or charged. Pierre Collins has said he's innocent.
