Undated (KROC AM News) - The thunderstorms that dumped several inches of rain over parts of northeast Iowa Tuesday night produced widespread flooding and claimed the life of at least one person.

Authorities say a man’s body was recovered Wednesday afternoon less than half a mile from where his car was found near the town of Lawler. He had called 911 to report his car was being swept away by floodwaters around 4:30 yesterday morning.

The hardest hit area was Winneshiek County where rainfall totals of 6 - 8 ½ inches were  reported.

The same system also dumped heavy rain in parts of southwest Wisconsin.

Here's a summary of the storm.
