Preston, MN (KROC AM News) - A public information day is being held Wednesday at the new state veterans cemetery in Preston.

The 169 acre site was dedicated over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs has invited veterans and their families to visit the Administration Building and grounds, meet staff, ask questions, learn about the services provided and pre-register.

The event will run from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m Wednesday and refreshments will be provided in the Administration Building. If unable to attend the Public Information Day, staff is available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The department says veterans who plan to pre-register should bring a copy of their discharge papers, DD214 or similar proof of military service and a marriage certificate if applicable.
