W. Des Moines, IA (KROC-AM News) - The Hy-Vee grocery store chain has announced a recall of one of its pasta products due to concerns over possible Listeria contamination.

The product is the Hy-Vee Summer Fresh Pasta Salad that was sold in its kitchen department cold cases and salad bars. Hy-Vee made the decision to issue the recall after it was notified the frozen vegetables used to make the ready-to-eat pasta were potentially contaminated.

The Summer Fresh Pasta Salad is packaged upon customer request from the kitchen cold case and would have been packaged in 16 oz. or 32 oz. clear plastic containers. The  packages were sold in a limited number of stores between April 9 -  27.

One of those was the Rochester store near the Crossroads Shopping Center. Other Minnesota stores affected by the recall are in Austin, Mankato, Waseca and Winona.

Customers should dispose of the product or return it to the store for a refund.

To date, Hy-Vee has not received any complaints associated with the Summer Fresh Pasta Salad.
