The Stingers' Jayce Vancena (5-1) (Michigan) pitched all seven innings, allowing three hits and struck out five in the shutout victory.

The Honkers scored first in game one when Drew Ellis (Louisville) hit an RBI single to score Turner Buis (Cal State Fullerton) in the top of the first. But it was all Willmar after that.

After the double header, the Honkers fall to 6-10 in the second half and 13-37 overall, while the Stingers advance to 10-6 in the second half and 27-24 overall.

The Honkers will travel to Waterloo on Monday to take on the Waterloo Bucks. The Honkers are back at Mayo Field Tuesday, facing the La Crosse Loggers.
