This will be the public's first opportunity to see the inside of the Chateau since Barnes & Noble left the building in January. The city of Rochester agreed to purchase the Chateau Theatre building this spring for $6 million, including a $500,000 contribution from Mayo Clinic. The city is still in the process of deciding the future uses of the 88-year-old building and is studying a model used by Minneapolis where a number of historic buildings are operated by a non-profit group known as Hennepin Theatre trust.

Encore Gala 2015 will be a 'creative black tie' event. Regular and VIP tickets/tables will be available for purchase beginning Monday, August 3rd through the Rochester Civic Theatre website. A limited number of tickets will be available. The event will include plated dinner, dancing and dessert buffet. Organizers say this will be social arts event of the season.
