WINONA, Minn. (AP) — Winona State University officials are investigating a complaint lodged against former men's basketball coach Mike Leaf.

The university released a statement noting Leaf was placed on administrative leave June 22, the day after the university received a complaint about Leaf. Leaf was still on leave when he notified the university June 26 he would be resigning effective June 30.

The Winona Daily News reports the complaint was lodged by one of Leaf's players.

The university said it was limited by the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act on what information it could release.

Leaf declined to comment to the newspaper. The Associated Press couldn't locate Leaf's phone number Saturday.

During his 17-year tenure, Leaf led the school to 382 wins and two Division II national championships.
