Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The former president of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale entered an Alford plea to a felony charge Monday.

The plea was entered the same day 44-year-old Jeffrey Amundson was scheduled to go on trial.

Amundson was accused of stealing money from a vulnerable adult who had been living in a local group home. The criminal complaint says he had power of attorney and was in charge of the man’s financial affairs. An investigation found Amundson had taken more than $18,000 of the man’s money for his personal use. Amundson resigned from his position with the music group last April, three months after he was charged.

The Alford plea means he doesn’t admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence to lead to a likely conviction.  He will be sentenced in June.
