Couple Found Beaten to Death in Shakopee

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (AP) — Police say two people have been found beaten to death in a Shakopee home.

Officers were called to a residence on a welfare check about 12:00 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say a 68-year-old man and 67-year-old woman suffered blunt force trauma and were pronounced dead at the home.

Shakopee police say a suspect has not yet been identified, but say the crime doesn't appear to be a random act.

Officers from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Scott County, Savage and Shakopee are investigating.
