Clinton Campaigns in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Hillary Clinton is trying to build support in Minnesota where caucus members overwhelmingly preferred her former rival Bernie Sanders in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The former U.S. Secretary of State addressed thousands of members the American Federation of Teachers at the Minneapolis Convention Center Monday night. Clinton told teachers they have some of the hardest, most important jobs in the world and that if she becomes president they will have a partner in the White House.

The Star Tribune reports Clinton told the teachers she wants to raise their salaries, institute universal preschool and repair crumbling schools.

The presumptive nominee also vowed to eliminate public college and university tuition for students of families that make less than $125,000 annually.
