ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (AP) — Prosecutors have filed an assault charge against a woman who was shot by a Robbinsdale police officer after she allegedly chased another woman while wielding a large knife.

Bail was set at $50,000 Friday for 18-year-old Tania Marnique Harris.

The criminal complaint says the women argued most of the day Thursday before police were called to the apartment building just before 6 p.m. It says an officer was outside speaking with the other woman when Harris burst through the door with the knife and began chasing the woman. It says the officer fired after Harris allegedly disobeyed commands to stop and drop the knife.

Harris is in stable condition. Her mother tells the Star Tribune her daughter had the knife to defend herself against people who came to attack her.
