St. Charles, MN (KROC-AM News) - Family and friends will gather Sunday afternoon in St. Charles for a service celebrating the life of Craig Walz.

It will begin at 3 o'clock at the St. Charles Elementary School Auditorium.

The 43-year-old Rochester man was killed June 19th while camping with his son in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness near the Canadian border when a severe storm toppled a large tree onto their campsite. 14-year-old Jacob Walz suffered severe injuries and spent over two weeks in the hospital before he was finally discharged last Sunday to continue his recovery at home.

Craig Walz was the brother of First District Congressman Tim Walz and was a popular science teacher at Saint Charles High School.
