Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - She may live in Byron but she grew up in Rochester and has been heavily involved in Rochester events and now she has been named the 2019 Rochesterfest Chairperson.

Rochester Mayor Kim Norton Wednesday announced Kristine Ihrke will lead the organization this year. Ihrke is director of sales at Centerstone Plaza Hotel and has been a Rochesterfest board member for the last three years.

Ihrke announced this year’s theme at the news conference - “ Rochesterfest: A Magical Time.” Ihrke also announced the kickoff of the Rochesterfest button design contest. Designs will be accepted through Feb 22nd.

Rochesterfest will run from June 22- 30th with most events at Soldiers Field Park. The grand parade is scheduled June 29th.
