Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Mayo Clinic Care Network has expanded into Arkansas. It was announced Thursday that Unity Health based in Searcy, Arkansas has joined the network of affiliated healthcare providers.

Unity Health was founded in 1967 and provides care to patients in eight counties in Arkansas through 3 hospitals and over 15 clinics that employ over 2000 people, including 150 physicians. Membership in the network provides Unity Health’s staff and patients access to Mayo’s expertise and resources.

“Our membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network is the result of our shared commitment with Mayo Clinic to improve the delivery of health care through high-quality, evidence based medical care and treatment,” says John Henderson, M.D., chief medical officer, Unity Health. “Although some patients will still need to travel to Mayo Clinic for specialty care not available in our community, by sharing medical expertise through the Mayo Clinic Care Network, we hope to provide most patients with the ability to stay close to home for care whenever possible.”

The Mayo Clinic Care Network now has 35 member organizations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Singapore.
