Spring Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - It was an exciting Friday afternoon in the town of Spring Grove.

The calm in the Houston County community of fewer than 2000 people was shattered when authorities received a phoned in bomb threat pointing to a vehicle parked near the Spring Grove Public Library. That led to the evacuation of the downtown area for hours and a lock down of Houston County Government facilities.

A bomb squad arrived several hours after the threat was received and used a remote controlled device to initially check the suspect vehicle before a more thorough search led to an “all-clear” announcement Friday evening.

Houston County officials say the owner of the vehicle has been cleared of any involvement in the threat and the investigation into the the incident is ongoing.
