Undated (KROC AM News) -  It looks like areas in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa may get a break and a chance to start drying out.

Heavy rain that began Wednesday and continued into Thursday led to widespread flooding and roads remain closed in areas in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.

The heaviest rain in Minnesota was reported in Waseca where 14 inches fell during a 48 hour period. More than 11 inches fell in Floyd County in northeast Iowa.

Rochester’s two day rain total was close to 4 ½ inches. That raised the monthly total to almost 9 inches, making it the 3rd wettest September on record.

There is a good chance of rain Saturday night that could continue into Sunday and some areas could receive up to an inch.
