The video above shows how quickly roads can flood. It was taken on September 4th when four inches of rain hit sections of the city over a period of several hours, resulting in numerous reports of flooded streets and parking lots.

We're expecting rain today and tonight in Rochester and throughout Southeast Minnesota. 2 to 4 inches will be possible, some areas might receive more. The rain will fall fast at times which could lead to urban flooding. The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the following areas, in southeast Minnesota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. In Wisconsin, Adams, Buffalo, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Trempealeau, and Vernon.

Do not drive through flooded streets. Doing so could cause your engine to stall and damage your vehicle.
