Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Conditional bail has been set at $50,000 for the Rochester man who was arrested on child pornography charges when he reported to the Olmsted County Courthouse this week for a probation violation hearing connected to his conviction on child pornography charges several years ago.

22-year-old William Doherty now faces 13 felony counts of possession and dissemination of pornographic works by a registered a predatory offender. The new charges stem from a probation violation discovered last fall and a search warrant executed at his southwest Rochester home last Friday that resulted in the discovery of over 1000 suspected child porn images.The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department indicated yesterday the search warrant was obtained based on the tip from an Internet watchdog group but targets child pornographers.

Doherty was given a sentence of five years on probation following his child pornography conviction in 2013.
