Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester attorney has announced his election bid for the state Senate seat that represents most of Olmsted County.

The District 26 seat is currently held by Republican Carla Nelson. Rich Wright announced his campaign for the seat Monday. He will seek the DFL Party endorsement.

The 46 year old Wright ran for the Minnesota House in the 2014 election. He lost the campaign for the House 26B seat to Republican Nels Pierson.
