Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - Investigators suspect a drug overdose took the life of a woman found unresponsive in Stewartville last Friday and the man who was with her was arrested.

Olmsted County deputies were called to the parking lot of Centertown Plaza around 1 p.m. and found the woman was dead. She was later identified as 26-year-old Kayla Iverson of Brooklyn Park.

An autopsy was conducted Saturday and it may be a few weeks before final toxicology results are in. But Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Scott Behrns says “there is a high likelihood Iverson’s death is related to a narcotics overdose."

Behrns says a 41-year-old Twin Cities man was with Iverson and he was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. It was also discovered Chad Espeseth’s driver’s license had been suspended. Deputies later found 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle Espeseth was driving and he may face drug charges.
