Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman has admitted to a felony drug charge stemming from an investigation into the smuggling of methamphetamine into the Olmsted County jail.

23-year-old Elizabeth Weaver was among the three people charged after the jail staff discovered that the drugs were being brought into the adult detention center inside wristwatches. In exchange for the guilty plea, another felony drug count and a gross misdemeanor charge were dismissed.

Weaver is scheduled to be sentenced April 25th.

The investigation into the smuggling was launched when the jail staff became suspicious about the number of inmates receiving wristwatches.
