MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton will proclaim Friday as "Minnesota Lynx Day" and host the WNBA champions for breakfast.

The Lynx captured their third championship in five seasons with a 69-52 win Wednesday over the Indiana Fever in Game 5 of the 2015 WNBA Finals. Prince serenaded the Lynx at Paisley Park, where the celebration lasted until early hours Thursday.

President Barack Obama called Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve with his congratulations Thursday. He says he looks forward to their visit to the White House to congratulate the players in person.

After breakfast with the governor Friday, the Lynx will celebrate their title with a parade up Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. It starts at 11:30 a.m. and ends at Target Center where a celebration begins at 12:15 p.m. The event is free.
