Winter Weather Conditions Contribute To One Rochester Area Crash
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Snowy conditions contributed to one crash in Rochester, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The injury crash happened Sunday around 11 a.m. on the on-ramp to northbound Highway 52 from the Civic Center Drive exit ramp. According to the report a Suzuki XL-7, driven by 47-year-old Jennifer Booker of Rochester, was entering Northbound Highway 52 from Civic Center Drive, and a Chrysler Pacifica, driven by 41-year-old Joshua Golden of Rochester, was Northbound on Highway 52 in the right lane. The two vehicles collided and then struck the median wall. Road conditions were described as covered with snow/ice.
Booker was injured in the crash and was transported to St. Mary’s with what was described as non-life threatening injuries.
Two other injuries happened in Winona County on Highway 61. The first happened near milepost 31 as a Lincoln Continental was Southbound on Highway 61 and left the roadway, entered the ditch and hit a tree around 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon The driver, 87-year-old Margaret Carroll of Winona was transported to Winona Hospital with what was described as non-life threatening injuries.
The second crash happened near milepost 25 in Winona County around 3:45 p.m. Sunday. A Pontiac Grand Prix was Northbound on Highway 61, went off the roadway and into the ditch and struck a sign and billboard. The driver, 30-year-old Keith Schroeder of Dakota, Minnesota, was transported to Winona Hospital with what was described as non-life threatening injuries.
Road conditions were described as dry at the time of these incidents in Winona County.
