(KROC AM News) -- The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 11 o'clock this morning until 1:00 a.m. Monday morning.

3 to 5 inches of snow are possilbe from central Minnesota to Southwest Wisconsin with higher amounts possible in some isolated areas.

According to the NWS, the precipitation will spread across the area from the northwest to southeast, likely not moving into our area later this afternoon and southwest Wisconsin by early evening.

It will start out as rain but quickly change over to snow with one inch per hour accumulation, and then change back to freezing drizzle late tonight into Monday morning.

Travel will become difficult as road conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly.
