(Rochester, Minn.)- The Honkers lost 9-1 to the St. Cloud Rox Monday night in Rochester. Marcus Ethen (Nebraska-Omaha) was charged with the loss for the Honkers. Reliever Collin Strall (LSU) earned the win for the Rox in his four innings of work.

Adam Walton (Illinois) had three of the Honkers’ seven hits, including a pair of doubles.

The loss brought the Honkers’ six game winning streak to an end, leaving them at 38-29 for the year, ted with the Duluth Huskies for third in the North division as the teams continue to jockey for playoff seeding.

St. Cloud brought the heat early and held a 5-0 run after four innings. Rochester would finally get on the board when Cole Krzmarzick (Nevada) singled brought in Mark Contreras (UC Riverside) to make it 5-1.

St. Cloud would plate one more in the seventh and three in the eighth to pull away and seal the 9-1 Honkers loss.

Tuesday will be the NWL Major League Dreams Showcase in Madison. The Honkers next home game will be on Wednesday, August 5th, against St. Cloud at 7:05 p.m. The last Fireworks Extravaganza of the season will follow, sponsored by ABC 6 News.
