Wild Draft Swede Center in First Round

Sunrise, FL (Minnesota News Network) - The Minnesota Wild have selected another player from the Farjestad BL in the Swedish Elite League

Swedish Center Joel Erikkson Ek was the 20th overall selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He was the Wild’s first-round choice. The Wild got Jonas Brodin from the same program four years ago. The 18 year old Ek had four goals and two assists in 34 games last season. He also had 21 goals and 11 assists in 25 games last winter while suiting up for the Farjestad Under-20 team.
