The game isn't even a day old yet, and many are already calling it one the greatest upsets in sports history.

Do you believe in miracles? Because something insane happened while you were sleeping last night. I know, I know, a 16 versus a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament isn't "must-see" TV unless you're favorite team is playing in it - but last night's game featuring top seeded Virginia against University of Maryland Baltimore County is what they call a "Bracket Buster".

March Madness officially has new meaning as the UMBC Retrievers absolutely destroyed the Virginia Cavaliers 74-54 in the opening round, shooting 50% from 3-pt land alone. This is the first time in the history of the men's tournament that a #1 seed has lost to a #16 seed.

And not to rub it in, but Virginia wasn't just a #1 seed. They were the #1 OVERALL seed in the entire tournament... Ouch! Prior to Friday's historic upset, 16 seeds were a combined 0-135 in NCAA Tournament history.

Earlier in the day I asked a friend if we'd ever see an upset like this happen, and his response was "probably not in our lifetime".

Needless to say, I had to call him and see if he was OK... his only response when he picked up the phone? "Holy S--t". Yep, that's how I feel too.
