For the third straight year, the Rochester School District is planning another “ We Want You Back “ campaign.  Volunteers will join school district employees in reaching out to students who haven’t started classes yet this fall.  The initiative is scheduled to take place Saturday.

Superintendent Michael Munoz says the district has identified 80 students who will be contacted.  He says 24 students who were contacted last year returned to school and 17 of them finished their grade.  Six students were convinced to return the first year of the campaign.

Munoz says in many cases, parents of the students are very grateful for the effort to get their children to return to classes.
