The weekend we all have a love hate relationship with:

Daylight Savings Time

You loose an hour of sleep but you also know in the back of your mind that it means summer is coming. Since this weekend is probably going to be rough, here are some tips to help you cope with the time change.

  • 1

    Relax Before Bed

Try doing yoga, progressive muscle relaxation, or drinking chamomile tea! I highly recommend chamomile tea. I drink it some nights and it's a nice way to slow down, sip a cup of tea, and the chamomile helps you fall asleep faster.

Go to Bed a Little Early

If you head to bed a little early every day this weekend it will really help with adjusting to the hour of sleep you'll loose on Sunday.

  • 3

    But Don't Sleep In!

I know, I know, I love to sleep in too. But don't do it! It can really mess with your sleep schedule if you try to "make up for" the hour you lost.

You're Pets Didn't Get the Memo

It's weird to think about but your pets don't realize that the clocks are being set ahead an hour. So that means if they usually wake you up at 5AM you won't be disturbed until 6 on Sunday! Woohoo!

Make Sure You're Stocked Up on Coffee

Or other caffeinated beverage of choice! If you don't drink caffeine though then obviously feel free to forego this idea.

  • 6

    Take a Nap

If you're really dragging on Sunday go ahead and take a short nap. Just make sure you don't take a nap too close to bedtime!

Stay Positive! Warmer Weather is Coming!

It will be sunny later in the day, the snow will eventually melt, and summer will finally be here before we know it!
