Last Thursday on Highway 13 a car accident was caught on video and it's a miracle no one was seriously injured in it. A driver with a dash camera was recording when a dump truck traveling on Hwy. 13 rammed into the back of a line of stopped vehicles.

The frightening crash happened on the eastbound side of Hwy. 13 at the Savage-Burnsville border just before the intersection Washburn Avenue Thursday, September 6th.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the vehicles were waiting at a red light when the dump truck slammed into the back of an SUV, which chain-reacted and hit another SUV in front of it.

"People from nearby businesses at the scene said they heard a loud sound around 9:45 a.m. when the crash happened and walked outside to see a dump truck had crashed into a semi truck. They soon realized there were two vehicles smashed in between."

Both SUV drivers were transported for non-life-threatening injuries for broken bones. The dump truck driver, 48-year-old Andy Stafford, of Owatonna, was cited for failure to use due care. A state trooper on scene reported Stafford did not appear to be impaired by drugs or alcohol.
