Wabasha Man Jailed in 1990 Rape Case

Fergus Falls, MN (MNN) - Court documents show a 59-year-old man from Wabasha is facing accusations that he raped a 15-year-old girl who worked for him at the Traverse County Fair in 1990.

Timothy Solem was arraigned in Otter Tail County District Court last week. County Attorney David Hauser says a felony warrant for his arrest was issued in 1991.

Solem worked for the carnival at the county fair in Wheaton in August of 1990 and held a party for his employees. The victim attended and fell into some mud, and investigators say Solem took her to his place to clean up and then sexually assaulted her.

He is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct.
