EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have promoted rookie guard Willie Beavers from the practice squad for depth on an offensive line that's been dogged by injuries this season.

Beavers, who was drafted by the Vikings in the fourth round this year out of Western Michigan, was signed to the active roster Tuesday.

Left guard Alex Boone left the game at Carolina in the second quarter Sunday by cart with a hip injury. After Boone's MRI on Monday, coach Mike Zimmer said he "should be OK." Tackle Jeremiah Sirles filled in at guard for Boone against the Panthers.

The Vikings also signed wide receiver Isaac Fruechte and offensive tackle Sean Hickey to the practice squad and released cornerback Julian Wilson from the practice squad. Minnesota (3-0) hosts the New York Giants on Monday night.
