JORDAN, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a 69-year-old Mankato man who fell to his death at a construction site in Scott County had interrupted his retirement to work with a contractor.

Jordan Police Chief Brett Empey says John Dickerman fell Friday while doing work on an expansion at an industrial equipment coating business. Empey says Dickerman was working on trussing for a roof roughly 25 to 30 feet above ground.

The Star Tribune reports Dickerman was part of a construction crew working for a Mankato contractor. According to Empey, Dickerman had come back to work for the contractor temporarily.

The incident is being investigated by police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
