Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police say the suspicious object that was removed from a downtown parking ramp this morning was not a bomb.

A spokesman says what appeared to be a pipe bomb was discovered on the 1st level of the First Street Parking Ramp around 7 AM, and prompted police to shut down and evacuate the entire parking structure until the St. Paul bomb squad arrived and removed the object several hours later.

A spokesman says the bomb experts transported the suspicious item to a location in the Twin Cities for disposal, and it was determined it was a replica explosive device that had been modified to make it appear to be a real explosive.
