Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester police investigators spent the overnight trying to learn who was involved in a shooting reported early Sunday inside a southeast apartment building.  An arrest has been made.

Police sergeant John Mitchell says several 911 calls about the incident were received around 1:15 a.m. from The Edge Apartments near the RCTC campus (863 21st Ave SE).  Mitchell says witnesses reported seeing several people running from the scene.Officers found  shell casings in a third floor hallway and “a few”  bullet holes in the wall and ceiling. One witness told officers it appeared someone had been hit by a bullet but there was no sign of a victim.

Then a short while later, investigators learned a shooting victim was being treated at St. Mary’s for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The 19 year old female was treated and released.

Investigators were able to get a good description of the suspect on a security camera, which showed the man firing a gun.  Mitchell says the man - 22 year old Bolus Dimbiti  of Rochester - was brought in on a weapons violation charge. Bolus was arrested in September for a shooting incident in the same area and recently pleaded guilty.

Mitchell says the incident remains under investigation and there may be more arrests.  He says at this point, the motive for the shooting is unknown.
