Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police have made two arrests in connection with a holdup at a Rochester liquor store.

Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis says an officer investigating the armed robbery at Joe’s Liquor Store on Monday evening returned to the business Tuesday morning to review video recorded by the security system. At one point, he looked up and spotted a man he recognized from the video walking outside the store with two other men, and one of them was holding a bottle of liquor that had been stolen during the robbery.

19-year-old Adam Hassan was arrested for his alleged role in the holdup, while one of the other men was taken into custody on an unrelated charge.

Sadauskis says Hassan later identified the second robbery suspect as a 17-year-old boy from Red Wing. Coincidentally, the juvenile suspect had been taken into custody around 5 AM Tuesday following a high-speed chase in a stolen van near Zumbrota, but he had already been released from a juvenile corrections center in Red Wing by the time Rochester police learned of his alleged involvement in the robbery.

The teenager was apprehended Tuesday night after Rochester police and the State Patrol responded to reports of a large fight in northwest Rochester and he was found in a car was spotted leaving the scene of of the brawl.
