Twins Work Overtime For 2-1 Win Over Cleveland
Minneapolis (Learfield) -- Joe Mauer singled in Brian Dozier from second base in the 12th inning to give the Minnesota Twins a 2-1 victory over Cleveland Saturday.
Dozier had singled with two out and advanced to second on a balk. J.T. Chargois earned his first major league win. A second-inning home run by designated hitter Miguel Sano had tied the score and it stayed that way until Mauer's clutch hit.
Minnesota starter Hector Santiago settled down after a rough start and allowed one run in seven innings. Third baseman Trevor Plouffe was placed on the disabled list before the game.
Joe Berrios starts for the Twins in today's 1:10 p-m game.
