The Minnesota Twins have had a very active off-season, and they continued it this week with the signing of two pitchers. Michael Pineda and Fernando Rodney, according to Mike Berardino.

The signing of Pineda comes with a wait time, as they 28-year-old did have Tommy John surgery in July. Expect Pineda to missed all of the 2018 season has he is rehabbing, while being a part of the rotation in 2019. Pineda is a former Yankee pitcher that is 40-41 in his career with a 4.30 ERA. The plus side? Pineda has 687 strikeouts in 680 innings pitched.

Rodney, 40, will be a veteran arm in the bullpen for the Twins, a place where the Twins really struggled in 2017. Rodney had 39 saves in 2017 with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and has a career ERA of 3.73. Rodney is a familiar foe to the Twins, as he came up with the Detroit Tigers way back in 2002, and pitched with them until 2009.

These are some solid signings for the Twins as they look to move forward after a successful 2017 season. There is reason to be excited about the Twins going forward, especially with their continued interest in Yu Darvish.
