(Minneapolis, MN) (Learfield Sports)  --  Brian Dozier smacked a three-run homer as part of a seven-run third inning as the Minnesota Twins pounded the Chicago White Sox 12-2 in the opener of a four-game set.  Dozier's blast was among his two hits, four RBI and two runs scored for the Twins, who have won four of their last six games.  Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored, while Trevor May (2-1) yielded two runs on 10 hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings.

Chris Sale (2-1) was roughed up for nine runs -- eight earned -- on nine hits and two walks for Chicago, which has dropped two straight on the heels of a 4-2 stretch

Twins/Sox, Game 2

(Minneapolis, MN)(Learfield Sports)  --  The Twins and White Sox will meet for game two of their four game series tonight at Target Field.

It will be Kyle Gibson (1-2, 4.84) going for the Twins while Chicago will send up Jose Quintana (1-1, 6.55).  First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.  Listen for the pre-game coverage beginning at 6:30 on 1340 KROC AM.

Twins Roster Move

(Minneapolis, MN)(Learfield Sports)  --  The Minnesota Twins placed right-handed pitcher Casey Fien on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain. Fien suffered the injury in Wednesday's game against Detroit in the ninth inning.

To replace Fien on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin from Triple-A Rochester.  Tonkin went 0-1 with five saves and a 2.45 ERA (7.1 IP, 2 ER) in eight relief appearances this season for Triple-A Rochester.

The 25-year-old made 34 relief appearances over the past two seasons with the Twins, posting a 3.26 ERA (30.1 IP, 11 ER) with nine walks and 26 strikeouts.
