MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed left fielder Oswaldo Arcia on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained right hip flexor muscle.

Arcia was hurt in Sunday's win over the Chicago White Sox, and the move was made on Monday before the Twins hosted the Oakland Athletics.

To replace Arcia, the Twins recalled outfielder Eddie Rosario from Triple-A Rochester to make his major league debut. The 23-year-old from Puerto Rico had six extra-base hits, including three home runs, and 12 RBIs in 23 games while batting .242 for the Red Wings.

Rosario was a fourth-round pick by the Twins in the 2010 amateur draft.

Arcia is batting .276 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 19 games.
