Park was designated for assignment shortly before the start of spring training, but he made a strong bid to reclaim his designated hitter position with a single and a double.  Gibson struck out two.

Righthander Phil Hughes will start today against the Red Sox, his first trip to the mound since recovering from an injury which kept him out of most all of last season.

The Twins take on the Washington Nationals on Sunday and you can hear the game on 12340 KROC AM starting at noon with Cory Provus and Dan Gladden.
