The Minnesota Twins made a major front office announcement on Monday (November 28), as they officially brought in former stars Torii Hunter, Michael Cuddyer and LaTroy Hawkins back into the organization as special assistants. All three players called time on their Major League Baseball playing careers after the 2015 season.

According to a story on the official Twins website, the players "will be resources for the front office, coaching staff and players. They'll also report to Spring Training as instructors, which is a role that Hunter and Hawkins filled last year. They'll also visit Minor League affiliates throughout the year."

In addition to those duties, each player will have other specific roles to play within the day-to-day operations of the club. The three, who have a combined 55 seasons of Major League Baseball playing experience, including 32 combined seasons with the Twins, will also help with scouting and draft preparation, as well as visiting the team's minor league affiliates.
