Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Flooding was reported early Wednesday in parts of northeast Iowa after torrential rain hit Clayton County.

The National Weather Service received reports from an area north of Dubuque in excess of 8 inches. There were numerous reports of washed out roads and some evacuations in that area. Lansing and Guttenberg reported more than 5 inches.

Expected rain missed Olmsted County but other areas in southeast Minnesota did receive mostly small amounts. Parts of Wabasha County received up to an inch of rain.

Meanwhile, storms caused damage in the northern Twin Cities early Wednesday. Hundreds of homes and businesses were dealing with outages due to downed trees and power lines.
