Timberwolves Blow Lead, Lose To Portland 109-103
Minneapolis, MN (Learfield) -- For the second time this season the Minnesota Timberwolves led Portland by 17 points -- and still lost the game.
A late rally by the Wolves fell short at home in Saturday's 109-103 loss. Some good individual performances were wasted.
Karl-Anthony Towns scored a game-high 27 points and took down 12 rebounds. Point guard Ricky Rubio had 15 assists. Damian Lillard's 19 points led a balanced Blazer attack. Portland had six in double figures, hitting over half of their shots from the field. Minnesota led 63-46 in the third period before Portland came back.
The Timberwolves host the Los Angeles Clippers tomorrow (Monday) night.
